  • As to the onset of why I was hurting, I could not pinpoint it. The location was of pain was also difficult to describe. All I knew was that my shoulder could hardly move and I couldn’t play with my kids for the day. This is when I knew I needed some extra help healing and getting back into normal range of motion. I came to see Dr. Christensen in order to get that help. After the first day of testing my shoulder and working on it, I could still not move my arm much compared to my other and it became frustrating. I was given a list of exercises to do and knowing that I lived a fairly busy life like others I needed to find time to make this work. I am a science teacher and one of the things I was able to do was to have my students stretch with me, and then during some of my preparation time I could work on it. Over time and lots of patience, I was able to strengthen my shoulder, get my breathing under control and slowly return back to normal activity. I can now shovel in my yard again, push my kids on the swing, and do normal inside help at my house. I have also noticed that if I do not keep working on my shoulder the pain slowly comes back. As long as I keep up the stretching and movement, I will be great.

  • For the first time I feel confident exercising, and can tell that I am getting stronger every day!
Scott was very helpful and knowledgeable, developing a simple routine tailored just for me. I mentioned in passing that my neck had caused discomfort my entire adult life, and instead of brushing it off, he spent time helping me with that as well. He explained that my troubled areas were all related and helped me understand why. What I most appreciated was his willingness to listen when a basic exercise caused discomfort. He modified each exercise specifically to my abilities until I had a personal routine that was workable.

At the end of my treatment, I was left with a plan that was simple, doable and effective. For the first time I feel confident exercising, and can tell that I am getting stronger every day. Thank you, Scott!

  • Life is so much better and almost completely pain-free!
I’m grateful for Scott and his expertise, knowledge and patience in helping me with my back. I had been frustrated with my pain to the point where I couldn’t do the running and exercising I had been used to doing.Over a period of weeks, he designed the best regimen for my situation. Yes, it was (and still is) a lot of work, but halleluiah, life is so much better and almost completely pain-free.

  • Rather than a one size fits all approach, he tailored a plan for me!
I feel so much better after treatment at Rx Rehab in Highland, Utah. Scott Christensen is the best physical therapist I’ve been to in years. Rather than use a one size fits all approach, he tailored a plan for me to ease the pain I was experiencing because of tight hip muscles resulting from diabetic neuropathy . He and Cassidy are caring and knowledgeable in serving clients.

  • Within 2 months Scott was able to bring me back to 100%
I am so impressed and grateful that I found Rx Rehab. I grew up playing football, baseball, and wrestling. All of those sports eventually left my shoulder badly damaged. I was no longer able to enjoy being active, and was in pain just playing catch with my son. Within 2 months Scott was able to bring me back to 100%. I am forever grateful for Scott and his staff for bring joy back to being active.

  • My back now feels better than ever and I am able to return to my everyday activities!
Before coming to Rx Rehab my back was as stiff as a board and I could not sit or stand for long periods of time, let alone enjoy my everyday activities such as working out, biking, running, and many other things. After treatments at Rx Rehab and prescribed at-home stretches and exercises, my back now feels better than ever and I am able to return to my everyday activities. Scott was not only able to help me out momentarily, but has provided me with solutions for the future as well!

  • I won’t go anywhere else!

In February 2018, I made the decision to ignore that my body was telling me to “STOP” while lifting heavy weight. As a result, (shocker) I hurt my lower back. It started as regular soreness from a tough workout. But when the soreness lasted for a month+ I knew something was wrong. Then I started feeling pain and discomfort while reaching to grab my work bag from the back seat of my car, while sitting, driving, watching a movie, eating a restaurant, or anything that I couldn’t easily reposition. I couldn’t pick up my nieces or comfortably bend to climb a rock while hiking. I was losing sleep from pain and my performance at the gym (even when my back was secondary to the workout movements) was suffering.

I had poor experiences with other health care providers with their very general explanations of what I “should” and “shouldn’t” do and felt like their knowledge base was limited when it came to the uniqueness of Crossfit. Being introduced to RxRehab has helped me tremendously. It’s been a long road to recovery, but 11 months later, I am able to do all of the things that were previously painful with ease. AND I’m back to lifting heavy weight off of the ground!!

The various payment options and insurance panels made my recovery-care affordable when other treatment providers could not while also (in my experience) getting a higher quality of care. I felt like my values and experiences were being held with the upmost importance. And the encouragement during the frustrating times in recovery was equally as excellent. Not to mention being held to limitations when I felt the urge to push boundaries and get back into my old-lifting-self sooner than what my body needed.

With RxRehab, I am on a road to not only recovering from a previous injury but learning preventative care to keep future injuries (or re-injury) from happening in the first place. I won’t go anywhere else!

  • After only six short weeks I have zero pain in any of my regular day to day activities
Before I started PT with Rx Rehab I couldn’t lift my four year old and even struggled with lifting my infant without shoulder pain. The pain would prevent me from doing basic physical labor at work and really affected my productivity. After only six short weeks fo PT with Scott and the rest of the Rx team I have zero pain in any of my regular day to day activities. I am extremely pleased with my outcome. I would refer anyone to Rx Rehab.

  • I am now able to move my head and neck quickly and fully!
Gripping my right hand had become painful. It was slightly swollen and inflamed and felt like a case of tennis elbow had somehow migrated to my hand. I made an appointment with Scott for treatment for my hand. About the same time I noticed that my neck was making clicking or popping noises when I turned my head. It wasn’t painful, but it was a problem when I tried to drive in traffic or ride my bike because I couldn’t turn my head quickly to check my blind spots. When I went in for therapy on my hand I also mentioned the problem with my neck. Scott was able to give me some exercises for my hand and did some manual physical therapy on my hand. The pain, and swelling resolved quickly and I now have no problems with my hand or gripping. My neck problem took a little longer to resolve. Scott manipulated my neck and applied deep massage to it followed by a laser treatments. It took four treatments to get my neck back to “normal.” I am now able to move my head and neck quickly and fully. Driving is no longer a problem. I’m an Rx Rehab believer!

  • The pain significantly reduced and eventually disappeared!
As Scott Christensen was starting out his PT Clinic he knew that I had a problem with my knee. However, I told him my real problem was with my left shoulder. I had soreness in my shoulder for a couple of years, particularly when I lifted my arm. He did an examination and determined that there was an impingement problem in my shoulder and thought I should have 2 sessions per week for about 8 weeks. He started me out with some mild lifting exercises with 5 lb weights and he stretched and manipulated my shoulder in each session and used the laser on my shoulder. The sessions were 45 minutes to 1 hour. My shoulder gradually loosened up and as I was able he added some more exercises to strengthen the shoulder. I could tell that the shoulder was gradually improving as the exercises became easier to do and the pain significantly reduced and eventually disappeared. He pronounced me done after 10 of the 16 sessions and I now continue some strengthening exercises to maintain and increase the strength in my shoulder. I am 69 and have been a jogger for many years. I had been resigned to seeing my body deteriorate and was ready to live with the aches and pains of older age but I found with Scott that I could actually reverse some of these old age complaints and get back some of my strength and fitness.

  • After years, I have feeling in my foot and toes! I asked my doctor for a referral to PT because the numbness in my foot was a constant distraction and painful. I had balance concerns, especially going up and down stairs, because my spacial orientation wasn’t there in my right foot. I had trouble finding a comfortable position for sleeping because of pain in my foot. My improvement has been wonderful with PT. After years, i have feeling in my foot and toes. I have much greater stamina and stability.

  • I can sit for longer than an hour or two.
I had been doing crossfit for three years when I injured my back from an incorrectly performed good morning and deadlift. I was in so much pain and was unable to sit down, pretty much at all. Scott was quick to let me come in and help relieve my pain. He even guessed correctly on what the source of my pain was before getting an MRI. Once the scan was complete and it was known that my back had 3 bulging discs, Scott did everything that he could to help me and decrease my pain levels. After working with him for 6 months and actually doing my homework, we’ve sunk my pain levels, gotten to the point where I can sit for longer than an hour or two before the pain kicks in, and decreased the pain level when it does show up. Scott even went out of his way after he went to a conference where a speaker discussed bulging discs and brought new information he learned to help me. The past month of frequent visits has pushed my recovery so much farther than before and I know that I wouldn’t be at this point without him. There aren’t a ton of people who are willing to help as much as they can, but Scott is one of these people. If he can do something to help, he will.

  • Now I Can Touch My Toes!
He was amazing! Before I came here I had very tight hamstrings. I could barely reach under my knee without bending them. Now I can touch my toes! And anything that has to do with hamstring, I can do! And I found out I am really flexible! So I can do a lot more with my body, especially my legs.

  • The pain has been reduced almost entirely and I can also sleep on my side!
I had pain in my shoulder whenever I moved my arm in certain positions. The pain got worse if I happened to sleep on my side on that shoulder. Through the exercises and stretches that Scott had me do the pain has been reduced almost entirely when i move my arm in certain positions, and I can also sleep on my side on that shoulder. Scott has been a great help to me in getting this problem under control.

  • I dont have the pain in my hand, and I can open and close the windows now! I came at first because I had pain going from my shoulder down into my hand. I like to sleep on that side and I was waking up in the night with my shoulder aching. Scott and Sara have been so helpful, I don’t have the pain in my hand and my shoulder is getting much stronger, I can open and close the windows now. Everyone in the office has been so nice and concerned. I am ever grateful for their help.

  • Scott set me up with a great daily plan! I approached Rx Rehab because of my recent back surgery. I have been nervous about re-injury and wanted to take steps to safeguard any future occurrences. Scott set me up with a great daily plan to strengthen my core. He answered all my questions and offered some really great advice along the way. I highly recommend Rx Rehab!

  • I advanced to a regular cane to NO cane.
I met Scott Christensen in my home during the week after my discharge from Aspen Ridge Rehab. I had been recovering from surgical repair of my fractured l femur, following a repaired hairline fracture four months earlier. Scott is a true professional DPT. He treated me in my “home apartment”- always on time, flexible, accommodating, appropriately attired and interested in helping me to improve. Scott assessed my home situation for safety, my strength, weakness and level of pain/discomfort. When we started I was ambulating with a seated walker and four footed cane. Scott drew out an exercise plan for me to follow at his first visit… using “stick-figure” art. I still refer and use this plan. He always explained what we were trying to accomplish, demonstrated what I was to do, guarded me as I tried new things answered my questions and encouraged me. He even walked outdoors with me, which was most helpful since my space was limited. Some exercises and stretching was done while I laid on my bed. When I started at RxPT as a private clinic, I had opportunity to try new exercises and equipment. I advanced to a regular cane to no cane. The goal has been to walk without the cane. At home I am able to walk outdoors a couple of blocks-carrying the cane. I am gradually using the cane less and less as my strength increases and pain/discomfort decreases. The cane helps me to be cautious and a reminder to others that I am somewhat fragile at 86.5 years of age. Scott has continued to answer my questions, demonstrate and explain physical anatomy-and what is needed to achieve desired results. Scott is a gentleman, knowledgeable, thoughtful, good listener, teacher, protector and is respectful. I am extremely thankful to have benefited by having Scott Christensen as my Physical Therapist.

  • hardly think about my shoulder anymore!
About 3 years ago, I tore the back of my rotator cuff. CT scan showed it likely wasn’t bad enough for surgery, so I took home the page of therapy exercises and proceeded to do them occasionally, babied my shoulder, and waited for my shoulder to heal. It didn’t improve–in fact, over time I lost a lot of range of motion and still felt pain quite often. I couldn’t raise it all the way, and I even had to think how fast to move my arm when reaching so it wouldn’t hurt. Even my grip was getting weak.

After an intensive month and a half with Scott at Rx Rehab and some exercising, my shoulder is basically back to normal. I can lie down on that side, do pass throughs, hang from a bar and lift my knees. I hardly think about my shoulder anymore. I am so grateful!

“Scott is hands down my favorite physical therapist. I’m pretty tight in my upper back/shoulders. Working with him helps a ton. My girlfriend sees him as well. She’s working through a slight tear in her rotator cuff. He’s been incredibly helpful and professional with her. She’s way ahead of schedule on recovery thanks to him!”

  • “Amazing and knowledgeable!! Scott has been working on me for a rotator cuff/pec injury for two months now and I have made amazing progress! Hopeful to be fully recovered within the next few weeks. 🤞🏼 I highly recommend seeing him!”

  • Scott is the best! He knows his stuff inside and out. He has worked with me on several different injuries and has gotten me to 100% everytime. He is honest and really knows how to put you at ease and how to help you recover. I won’t go to anyone but Scott with my injuries.

    Kat S.

  • “Scott @Rx Rehab is awesome. He himself is a crossfitter, so he knows what we athletes, do and suffer from. He helps me recover quicker whenever I have injuries. I trust his skills & knowledge, as well as his integrity as a professional. I recommend him to any of my friends and family.”

  • “So great and knowledgeable! I have been dealing with low back issues that bothers me periodically. Scott has been working with me on this issue and has pointed out some mobility issues I have and certain movement patterns that might be the source which I did not know I was doing. I highly recommend checking him out I guarantee he will help you figure out what is causing you pain, help you recover from it, and prevent it from happening again!”

    Melissa D.

  • “I’ve worked with Scott professionally as well as him being my PT and I wouldn’t let anyone go to anyone else. Unless they are my enemies… then I would tell them to drop dead, in which therapy no longer applies. RX Rehab is the best.”

  • testimonial-rx-rehab-physical-therapy

I wish I could give more stars. Scott is the best physical therapist I’ve ever seen. I saw him for help with a rotator cuff/bicep tendon strain and for a long-term Achilles problem. Both are improving under his care. When you go to see him, Scott will ask questions, carefully examine you and analyze your movement, then explain the problem and show you how to fix it. He is smart, thorough, and caring. You will feel at ease with Scott. He takes the time to treat people right and give them the care they need. I recommend Scott at Rx Rehab to anyone who needs physical therapy. He’s simply the best.”

    Cherise E.

  • “Being older and transitioning from a distance runner to Crossfit, I have faced a lot of issues with mobility, lack of strength and injuries from preforming lifts incorrectly. On multiple occasions, Scott has taken the time to look at my initial complaint, ask relevant questions and then taken the time to access the overall cause. This has included filming movements, reviewing range of motion and other testing that seemed (to me) completely unrelated to my issue. It quickly became clear that his treatment targets the root cause of the injury to provide a long term solution, not just a quick band aid fix of the affected area.

He also follows up to ensure that the issue has been corrected. Because of his approach I have had quick recoveries but more importantly, I have become a better, stronger and WISER athlete.

Long story short, he knows his stuff. More so than any other PT I have received treatment from.

I have and will continue to recommend his services to all of my friends and colleagues who have had their own injuries.”

    Vince M.

  • “I’ve been to a few different physical therapists and Scott is by far the best. He talks with you and actively listens about your ailment, then runs you through basic exercises and studies your movements so he can pin point exactly where the problem is occurring so when he gives you drills/exercises to fix your problem it’s actually fixing the issue. He has a vested interest in helping and wants to see you improve and get better. I’ve recommended Scott to several of my fellow fitness friends and continue to do so. He’s simply the best.”

    Darise H.

  • “As a runner trying to transition to Crossfit, I have a lot of work ahead of me and a lot to to learn. When I was struggling with some basic lifting movements, Scott preformed a comprehensive review. He assessed my short comings and problems for movement, strengthening and form. He explained what was causing the issues (in language I was able to understand) and was able to provide a range of exercises and stretching to help me progress in all three areas, helping me feel there might be hope for me yet. After a debilitating muscle strain, Scott got me moving again and provided additional exercises to strengthen the muscles that contributed to the injury. He is very knowledgeable, easy to work with, responds quickly to questions and follows up regularly. In short I would recommend contacting him for any physical therapy help you need to fix an issue or improve your overall mobility and physical performance.”

    Vince M.

  • “Scott goes above and beyond to help client rehabilitation and healing. Definitely one of a kind and sets the bar high for what a PT should actually be. Both me and my wife have been helped by him and have seen night and day results with his immediate efforts and the material he gives you for when you aren’t with him. Will refer him to everyone!”

  • “I’ve had quite a few injuries over the years. Since working with Scott those previously hurt areas have had significantly less pain and much increased mobility. Scott’s work has made a substantial improvement in my ability to attack training with intensity.”
